Music addiction and it's ages

The 1st of October is the International Music Day, so I decided to write about the passion that makes our life sound so much better.
People are different and, obviously, their taste in music is also individual. Moreover, there has always been a strong connection between ages and the corresponding preferences about this art.

Children are like parrots - they don't have a definite, outlined impression about beauty, they repeat it from their environment. As a kid, I liked the dance hits, as I used to wag in the whole space of our flat, jumping and spinning with my princess-like dresses at every celebration. And I find it normal for the childhood of a 90's child. But I don't really have any idea about what do children love to listen nowadays... Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber? Well I guess that my preference of singers like Britney Spears and Shakira at the age of 9 wasn't so bad after all... But who am I to judge?

I've also realised that teenagers between the ages 11-15 tend to listen more to the songs that are on the official music top lists. People usually like what the majority loves. I used to have a lot of songs performed by Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Pink, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, David Guetta, Usher, Chris Brown on my iPod. I tried to know everything about the latest hits and I listened to the top lists on the radio or music channels every week. I adored the track "Just the way you are" sang by Bruno Mars. I was also influenced by an amazing phenomenon called Adele. She sang from the bottom of her heart the words that could be so appropriate to my experiences that I cried while hearing "Someone like you" for the first time.

With time, I realised that as I grew up, I started to appreciate not only the first top hits and be so conservative(or narrow-minded :D), I began to understand that each music type has a specific beauty, whether it's dubstep or rock, metal or hip-hop. Each style deserves to exist and be valued, correspondingly to the tastes of each person. Myself, I undestood that Skrillex isn't so bad after all, I still love the number one hits, especially when it comes to Gangnam Style and Far East Movement.
But when I want to listen to music I wouldn't live without, I stay tuned to Kelly Clarkson and One Republic. It's possible that my ego is searching for touching lyrics and the harmonious sound of the music that has an astonishing effect: It makes life inspiring. I began addicted to slow songs maybe because my destiny's "DJ got me falling in love".
Generations and music styles are in a continuous change, that's why I hope that, after years, my children won't tell me: "Mom, tell us you didn't listen to such cr*p when you were young."
